State champions to be crowned this week
High school softball teams will make a run at a blue map trophy this week.
The Alabama high school state softball tournament takes place this week in Oxford, at Choccolocco Park. The tournament is scheduled to run Monday through Friday, with each classification completing its eight-team tournament in a two-day stretch.
Classes 2A and 5A begin Monday, 3A and 7A start Tuesday, 1A and 4A begin Wednesday and 6A starts Thursday.
Rain is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, so the schedule could be altered some, but here is the planned game schedule.
